    Default Interesting Philly Detective's Blog

I stumbled across this blog of a veteran 16 year Philly cop (now detective). - http://supportyourlocalgunfighter.com/

Specifically, he comments on the recent Philly media treatment of the Florida "loophole"/revocation/confiscation/harassment issues here (be sure to read the comments and his {Wyatt Earp's} responses) - http://supportyourlocalgunfighter.co...ly/#more-27372

My first impression is that he strikes me as a no BS guy who would be a welcome voice here ...

This guy should be the Chief.

Anyone see comment #11 in the "Florida Loophole" posting? Is that person talking about the newspaper revealing the names of LTCF holders in Philly?

I doubt it. There seems to be folks commenting from other states....

If permit application details are released as public records, then the citizens need to rescind a permit requirement in the law. Let all non-felons carry at will.

If LTCF application details are released as public records, then the person releasing the information is guilty of a Third-Degree Felony. See Section 6111(g)(3.1) of the Uniform Firearms Act:

(3.1) Any person, licensed dealer, licensed manufacturer or licensed importer who knowingly and intentionally obtains or furnishes information collected or maintained pursuant to section 6109 for any purpose other than compliance with this chapter or who knowingly or intentionally disseminates, publishes or otherwise makes available such information to any person other than the subject of the information commits a felony of the third degree.

Sorry, I was referring to other states that do not have that type of law. It comes up periodically here and there. I think it came up in Florida but they fixed the law, IIRC. But other areas have not.

The confusion was that the chief is from PA but speaking about Florida, and my implication was for out of state instances which was implied. I should have specified but I get lazy sometimes.
