Re: Practice, Practice, Practice.
In the opening of the video, I noticed you have a badge on your belt. Are you law enforcement? You need more training.

That's not a badge, it's a mall ninja trinket from a farmers market.

Re: Practice, Practice, Practice.
A fair request.
For starters: I understand that drills are to exercise fundamentals and are therefore sometimes artificial and not always tactically sound. Still, it seems a stretch to practice moving ever so slowly across a field of fire when cover is close by. But that's just a matter of training opinion, I guess.
More specifically:
1. Not muzzling yourself is obvious. IMO, you should pick a reload style and stick to it. Some teachers advocate keeping the gun on target as much as possible while reloading, clearing malfunctions, etc. Others say bring it up to eye level so you can keep your eyes downrange but still have the gun somewhat in view. I tend to do the latter, with my strong side elbow touching the body, so that the gun is always in the same place. ETA: for TRB, though, I try to move the gun as little off target as possible.
2. Don't crowd cover.
3. Don't leave cover until fully reloaded.
4. Again, just my opinion, but when NOT behind cover, move with a purpose, not leisurely.Last edited by dgg9; August 27th, 2010 at 09:13 AM.

Re: Practice, Practice, Practice.
So is anyone going to offer the the nice gentleman some assistance, or just continue to point and make rude comments?
Okay
1. In opening scene (and in most cases) you'd be better off going straight to cover rather than try to engage targets on the move. Shooting on the move is possible at close range but all your shooters need to increase their shooting speed while stationary before trying to learn how to shoot on the move. While you're shooting 1 and 2, numbers 3, 4, 5, etc are shooting at you.
2. You need to make better use of cover. Shooters expose much more of their body than they need to.
3. Reloads are being done way too leisurely. Maybe more practice here. Always take cover if you can when reloading.
4. If you have a malfunction go to cover. Don't stand in the open. You don't know how long it will take to clear the malfunction and you may need to be immobile to do so. If you're moving at least you're making yourself a harder target.
Just my take.
