Default Question about the non-existent illegal database

I know the non-existent illegal database is held by the pa state police, but can it be accessed by any department? Or can local police departments only check the lost or stolen database?

I have no idea why people keep calling it "non-existent".
PSP has never denied that they database the info on SP4-113 forms....

Anyway, from my experiences and what I have been told by LE, the database is typically accessed by call center, not individual LEOs.

Okay thanks. I call it non-existent because they deny that it's a registry of ownership, which is technically true but ultimately accomplishes nearly the same thing. Unless you bring in a gun from another state, or have one handed down to you, or build one, or buy one on the black market, it's gonna be on the registry.

You are correct sir. Although I thought I heard someone say the Scranton area was working on some type of new program to allow direct access??? Not sure, I could be wrong.

Either way, they can still access it right? They just have to call instead of look it up directly?
