AR15 Armorer Course - Greg "Sully" Sullivan
AR15 Armorer Course
Greg "Sully" Sullivan
(Defense Edge Training & Consulting, Inc.)
Introductory Level - 2 Days
Oct 28 - 29, 2010
Thur- Fri
Daily starting time is 9:00am
Location
TBD
Our 16 hour AR15/M16 Armorer course provides Industry Standard 5 year Armorer's Certification. Students will also have an opportunity to purchase a SLR15 rifle at a special Armorer's rate.
Here is a brief overview of what is covered during this very busy hands on full 2-days of AR15/M16 Armoring:
History of the Weapon
Cycles of Function
General Dis-assembly & Assembly
Identification of Common Problems and Parts
Nomenclature
Identification of Group Components
Semi, Burst, and Full Auto Parts and Conversions
Complete Armoring Dis-assembly / Assembly
Barrel Replacement
Cleaning and Maintenance
Sight and Distance Considerations
Ballistic Issues
Barrel Twist and Length Choices
Gas System
Parts Interchangeability, including Brands
Headspace
Firing Pin Protrusion
Trigger Jobs
Chamber Inspection and Polishing
Accessories and Customizing
Tool Options and Selection
Iron Sights (A1/A2/A3)
Dis-assembly/Reassembly
Optics
SOP/MOD
Accessories and Additions
All tools, manuals, and anything else that is necessary is supplied. We will provide rifles with prior arrangements so we know how many to bring. We prefer that students bring their own weapon systems to get familiar with their own configuration and modifications, plus this allows the time for a good thorough cleaning and inspection, plus we can replace and repair any parts necessary. This is a very intensive course that we cover in 2-days, so be prepared to get a lot of hands on knowledge.
Student Materials (Minimum Suggestion): Unloaded AR15/M16 Rifle (9mm / 5.56mm / .223cal) Provided with Prearrangement's.
Cost: Tuition is $350.00, (No Club Discounts) and must be paid in full at the time of enrollment. Tuition becomes non-refundable 30 days prior to the first day of the course, with two exceptions. As noted above, if the course itself is canceled all tuition is refunded, and if a student violates range safety rules and is asked to leave the course and his or her tuition will be refunded.
Class size: Enrollment will be not less than 10 no more than 20 students. Last day to enroll is September 28th. In the event a course is canceled, any tuition paid by any student will be promptly refunded.
Location: TBD

Re: AR15 Armorer Course - Greg "Sully" Sullivan
Enrollment is still open. Take both this and the Tactical Carbine courses by Sully for only 500.00 total, (200.00 off) or take either one for 350.00. Great instructor, great training and good company.

Re: AR15 Armorer Course - Greg "Sully" Sullivan
This course is something I would really like to do.
However, the timing is not right as I am starting a new job this week and days off will be Mondays and Tuesdays. Also is there any chance this might be offered in the eastern part of the state at some later date?
I would like to do both the classes. How much ammo needed for the shooting part of the class?...anything else that would be required or suggested?

Re: AR15 Armorer Course - Greg "Sully" Sullivan
This armorer's course is great. I took it at Boone County Indiana back in March of 2008. Loved every bit of it. I'm sad that it was cancelled.
