New Taurus pt 111 9mm
Here are some pics of the new gun. I took it to the range on sunday and put 75 rounds threw it. It has a lot less recoil than my revolver. I had 2 ftf issues but I think I was pressing the magazine ejector and I dont have a lot of experience with pistols, so I think it was my fault. It shoots nice, easy to aim at 15 and 25 yards but I need a lot more practice doing everything from loading, aiming, and just generally understanding how the gun functions. I may go to novia scotia range this weekend to get some more rounds threw it.

Re: New Taurus pt 111 9mm
I was looking at the blued one as well but I couldnt pass up the $299 price tag on the SS.
Also, if you are looking at these used, here is a good way to tell if they are 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation:
http://www.taurusarmed.net/forums/index.php?topic=830.0
First Generation
* The guns were marked only as Millennium
* All were DAO
Second Generation
* The guns were marked as Millennium Pro
* Magazines were modified and will not interchange with First Generation models
Third Generation
* The word "Pro" was moved from the left side where it read "Millennium Pro" to the right side where it reads "PT145 Pro"
* The sights are dovetailed into the slide rather than screw mounted
* The guns are now SA/DA rather than the traditional DAOLast edited by rspowers; October 30th, 2007 at 03:31 PM.

Ray, Hope the get together helped you make up your mind. I like the small size but I like big bores that's why I went with the PT745. I just have to get out some more and see what ammo it like best.
When you know when you're going to Scotia post it (in the Centre Co area) and thare will probably be a few of us that will show up also, especially on a weekend.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member

Yea, the get together helped a lot. I knew what to look for and had a much better idea of what I wanted. I am going to the range this weekend, although I dont know what time for sure (most likely saturday around 1) at this point since I am bringing the wife. I will try to work out a time with her in the next day or two and post it in the centre co forum.

I may have to revisit this gun. I didn't like the DAO of the 1st 2 gens. If this is a true DA/SA, how do you drop the hammer?

Taurus makes a very good gun at a fair price.
