I wasn't going to share this but the wife said I should so here you go..


Yesterday morning when I got home from work I got started making phone calls to find out why my sons Medicaid had been stopped again. My son has spina bifida and at least once a year the Commonwealth,Hershey Med,or our private insurance screws something up and we get calls saying people aren't getting paid for braces,meds,etc.

Well after 2.5 hours on the phone and finding out it was the States fault this time, I FINALLY got all the info about who needed letters,faxes,phone calls to straighten the mess out this time. We'll still get delinquent notices and phone calls, but I'm pretty sure thing's will get back on track.

ANYWAY, just as I hang up with someone from my marathon phone call with Harrisburg, there's a knock at the door about 15 feet behind me. I'm sitting at our home computer in the living room facing away from the door.

I get up and walk toward the door. I see 2 women on my porch looking in, and looking at me strangely. I figure that got something to do with the fact that I'm a big guy with tattoos and a pissed look on my face. I answer the door, opening the main door partway and talking through the screen door. They ask for my wife. I tell them she's not home, figuring they are selling Avon or something else my wife gets catalogues for.This is confirmed when one of them hands two magazines through the screen door asking me to give them to my wife. I say I will, and they leave. Kept giving me weird looks the whole time.

As I turn away from the door, I'm more pissed because I was interrupted when all I want to do is get all this paperwork done and go to bed. I look down at the magazines in my hand and realize 2 things:

1: They're copies of the Watchtower, which means the women were Jehovah Witnesses.

2: When I changed after work, I was thinking about all the phone calls instead of changing- I answered the door in my FOTL's.

i feel for you brother. my brother was born with spina biffida, the doctors told my parents that he would either die or be a paraplegic after the operation..
that was in 1963, he lives a normal life now except he cant do much heavy lifting.
