    Default PMP Ammo?? And good???

So I went into the Dunhams in Chambersburg today (first time there) and saw that they had some PMP 300 win mag 180 gr soft points for just less than $10 a box. I never hear of PMP before (made in South Africa?), but it was brass cased. I don't know what kind of primer (boxer or berdan). I looked them up on the net and they make a bunch of ammo with both types of primers.

I bought two boxes to try for plinking. I haven't seen 300 win mag that cheap for a long time. (For the locals - there was still 2 boxes left there as of 1PM today.)

Questions- Has anyone ever shot any? What kind of primers does it have? Anyone ever try to reload it?

PMP i've used has boxer primers. I have used it in 270 Win in a Remington 7400. About as accurate as most factory ammo. Using it in a semi-auto I have had cases where the rim of the brass was ripped off by the extractor and I had to punch the brass out with a cleaning rod. Obviously, I haven't reloaded it.

I used a bunch of it in 223 in an AR and reloaded that brass numerous times,It was some of the most accurate 55 gr ball ammo I shot through it.IMO it was/ is better quality than the Yugoslav made Privi Partizan

Pretoria Metal Products is the full name. Loaded 0.303 for many years and it is good ammo and the cases will reload well. Dave_n

Thanks for the replies. I guess I should have bought more for the price.
