Reply not saved when user not logged in
I just responded to a post and clicked submit. I forgot to login and when i did everything i typed was erased.
Is there anyway that reply text can be saved while a user log's in? In hind sight I now know to copy text before i login if it happens again but thought there may be a way to permanently fix it. Thanks.

Re: Reply not saved when user not logged in
When you log in, click in the box that says "Remember Me"
That will keep you logged in.TalkPa.net - The Message Board and Forum For Pennsylvania

Most times, the action will continue after logging in... If you stayed on the same page, and typed in your info, it should have logged you in and continued the action it started before it was interrupted..

Re: Reply not saved when user not logged in
I just tried something...I thought I saw before...
I logged out, then clicked Reply for this thread....it gave me a page telling me I was not logged in. How did you get to a type box?

Re: Reply not saved when user not logged in
Oh.. never mind.. My mistake... I was think it logged out on him while he was responding, and then it prompted after submitting. I know that happens to me sometimes for some reason...
But I don't know how the typing area even came up. When you go to "post reply" without being signed in, it prompts you to before even getting the type screen..? Unless it happened like I originally thought?Last edited by NikeBauer21; August 17th, 2010 at 04:11 PM.

Re: Reply not saved when user not logged in
If you hit reply and it takes you a long time to type out a reply and you don't have the "remember Me" box checked off when you log in the site times you out.
This is a vBulletin site. I run a few vBulletin sites of my own (see my signature )
There is a time limit where if a member does not take an action in a certain amount of time the site will log you out even though to you it might look like you are logged on.
2 easy solutions for a member - Check off the "Remember Me" box or type out your reply faster!TalkPa.net - The Message Board and Forum For Pennsylvania

Re: Reply not saved when user not logged in
That doesn't always work. I've tried with IE and Firefox and I occasionally have to re-enter my user name and password. Also, like others have said, taking too long to type a reply will sometimes log me out.
(I'm too easily distracted, I've learned to copy when it seems like I'm taking too long or when I go to do something else before I finish).
