I'll kick it off with todays success

This buck is not the biggest buck I've ever harvested, but it's one of the more meaningful.

I have not archery hunted in some years due to life Just couldn't put in the dedicated time.

Rattled this guy in at 1:40 PM
He showed about 2 minutes (if that) after rattling and grunting. He came directly towards me and then turned a little just inside 20 yards. I was looking hard for the 8 pt that was with this guy last week when I was out for early ML (doe tag).
Looked like he was alone so I drew on him in the last available shooting lane before he passed behind me.

Nice looking 6 with a couple cheater pt's. One brow tine is a double. Neat.

18-ish yard shot, 0 yard recovery

    Gear:
Hoyt super slam heat. 64 lbs. Easton 2013's w/NAP Thunderhead 100's
    Altier Bowhunter sight.
    API Grand Slam Supreme treestand.

I'm saving my pennies for a new bow (Vectrix XL) Obviously my bow still works But it is 16 year or so old technology.
Dusted it off, re-strung and tuned it last month. I was surprised how well I could still shoot. Guess it's like riding a bike! Looking fwd to going out again. Got a couple doe tags and turkey tag to fill still this year.

    Nice little buck.

I had back surgery in August and recovery has been slow. I have only been out once, last Saturday. I hunt archery mostly and use traditional equipment but this year I broke out my old PSE since I need a bow with let-off. I love all bows though and every year look forward to archery season like a kid waiting for Christmas normally, lol.

Nice buck. Any deer taken with a bow is a trophy.

I'm in the same boat you are. I haven't archery hunted in a lot of years due to work, etc. I plan on getting back into it next year though. I've never taken a deer with a bow, even though I archery hunted for quite a few years.

I had the opportunity to take many doe, but that was back in the dau of only being allowed to take one deer a year, period. I couldn't get myself to take a doe and miss out on taking a buck during rifle season.

Were you hunting up in your neck of the woods?

Yep, state land up here in Mtn Top.

Steve, when you dust off your bow your welcome to come up and shoot.
Leaving to pick up the wifes new bow now. Shes never shot but wanted to try it when I got back into it. She's lefty and 26" draw. Just happened to find a nice later model (used) PSE Spyder that fit her, all equipped, down at JnD archery. Took her down to try it and she was hooked. Put a deposit on it and now that' all I her about since!
So anyway, we'll be shooting often as she is determined to be ready to bow hunt turkey in the spring
