The one thing I'm waiting to see is if manufacturers/people will optimize the .22 WMR round for a shorter pistol barrel. From what I've read and judging by the muzzle blast and sound, the barrel simply isn't long enough to get close to its optimal energy.

Has anyone heard/seen anything about new ammo specifically for the pistol?

That being said, I'd buy 2, and as many mags as I could get.

there IS 22mag ammo specifically designed for short barrels... a popular/ well performer is speer gold dot short barrel 22wmr ammo 40gr HPs.

there are also a metric shit ton of youtube testing videos that show that standard 22wmr completely ourtshines 22LR - even from short barrels (everything from NAA mini revolvers to LCR 3in models, buffalo outdoors has a great side by side comparison of 22lr vs 22mag from 'identical' revolvers in each via LCR 3in)...

i carry a 351c w a NAA BW backup w no reservations, 22mag will rock you.

what keltec needs to do is a PMR 20 - shorter grip than 30model, ideal carry. also use a paddle mag release like their P17, that would be my carry at all times - super light/ fast/ accurate and 20rds on tap

Keltec makes the CMR-30 which is the carbine version.
