Eastern FOAC Meeting?

We need to organize an Eastern meeting place, time, date.

I can run with this, basically we need to find a somewhat central location that can work for the core group of volunteers out East so that we can set up physical meetings.

We need to come up with a location that can work, and a date/time of the month that everyone can schedule off for these meetings.

Based on the discussions I've had with people so far, the core volunteer group seems to be in the Southeastern part of the state, there is a solid group of people around Allentown and a solid group down near Philadelphia.

Basically, for those who want to be involved in the Eastern Chapter, I need to know where and when you are capable of meeting in the Southeastern PA region.

This is for those volunteers that want to be involved on a very consistent basis, and who are going to actually attend these meetings. Simply put, if you can't attend these meetings consistently then there is no point in factoring in your location when deciding on the place to meet.

If you don't want to post on this thread, feel free to send me a pm or e-mail, that's fine, but we are looking to get this decided quickly. A good idea, is to spend some time on google maps, mapquest, or another map site, and see what the estimated driving times to other big towns/cities you would be able to meet at are.

Feel free to post ideas, if we reach a consensus I'll create an event thread for our first meeting.

Edit: I just thought of a better way to do this. We can keep this thread active though, and I'll post an explanation shortly.

Edit #2: Okay, I just created a map using google that FOAC Eastern volunteers will be able to use to coordinate a meeting location. If you're serious about volunteering and being involved with the FOAC Eastern committee, send me a pm with your e-mail and I can invite you to collaborate on the map. It is being kept private otherwise, because we all value our anonymity. I've invited many of you via e-mail, so take a look for it first in case you got the collaboration invitation already.

Will most of these meetings to be held in the Philadelphia/suburb areas?

I was thinking around the Allentown area would be pretty fair for everyone...

the best days for me to attend any meetings are Wednesday or Thursday at night..say 6-7pm+...anything on the weekend would have to be early for me..for example..starting promptly at 10 so I can get back in time to go to work at 1:15.

I would definitely love to come. I live in Bryn Mawr. I can do Allentown no problem...it's a bit of a drive but probably a lot more friendly than Philadelphia.

As long as it is on a weekend (and the world doesn't come to an end at work), I should be able to attend. I could also do late weekday nights. Later the better.

You guys should just talk with Chris and see what dates are good for them to have someone come out and attend and then post a poll like we did for central to see what is best date for everyone. Once you nail down a date just post it and get the ball rolling.
