Re: This website's acronym needs to be changed
The few people? Sorry but you made the claim in post #9 that people were arguing with you. Nobody was arguing in posts #2-8.
Arbitrary stats? You thought PFA was a better acronym. Yet there are literally dozens of existing uses for it. Nothing arbitrary there. You made the claim that acronyms should be short. Yet long ones exist all over the place. Nothing arbitrary there.
Don't get so defensive when people don't agree with you.
I think its a fair subject and valid point, if you disagree that's fine. But don't say PAFOA is better than PFA or PFOA.
Sorry PAFOA is better then PFA or PFOA. If you disagree that's fine. If you say it, fine. But don't go telling other people what they can or can't say.
Honestly IMO PFA is a crappy acronym. It's got too many uses, especially Protection From Abuse.
When it comes to acronyms either less is better, or forming a word is better. The right to bear arms isn't for hunting bear. Subliminal Messages

Re: This website's acronym needs to be changed
If I could go back in time and pick a name that was slightly easier to say, I probably would. Unfortunately that ship is already half way across the Atlantic at this point.

Re: This website's acronym needs to be changed
I think all words having more than three letters should be shortened to have only three letters. Four when adding an "s" to make it plural.
Elephant becomes ent.
Zebras become bras. (As in "Honey, do you need help unfastening your zebra?"
Honestly Franky, I think you need a jigsaw puzzle to fill your spare time if you're really all that concerned.
"PAFOA" is what it is. It's derivative and, therefore, easy to remember through context.
And why do we need "branding" anyway? Are we selling something?Sed ego sum homo indomitus

Re: This website's acronym needs to be changed
Ah, don't worry mate. I didn't take offense to it.
I know its already too late, It's not like I REALLY expected the admin to see this, and say "OMG thats an awesome idea, the whole site is shut down for renaming changes"..... I mean, come on. I just said it so maybe if he makes another site or DOES happen to change something someday, maybe he'll keep it in mind.
Thats all. No fighting intended.

What you don't like 'Poofa'?
Why the Atlantic? Why not the Pacific?
It must be frustrating seeing some of the 'growing pains' the site is going through at times. Hang in there. It is a good site and I'm glad you started it. It will outlast the trolls, elves, gnomes, and ogres.Koli's back from Ambler.
