Re: Tennessee man sues for right to bare arms
It almost seems like he's enjoying being the test case. While I have no problem with that, carrying a gun *in hand* in public would cause more disturbance than necessary, even if you're not waving it around.

Re: Tennessee man sues for right to bare arms
I have no choice. My right to bear arms was taken from me and no one else is going to stand up for my right to bear arms.
The City of Belle Meade only allows the carry of the army or navy pistol openly in the hand. They do not allow the carry of any other handgun. They do not allow concealed or holstered carry. City ordinance 11-602 and it is not preempted by State law (TCA 39-17-1314(a) due to the date of the ordinance.

Well then....rock on. Just be careful that you don't achieve the opposite of your goal (like what may be the case in CA).

Re: Tennessee man sues for right to bare arms
I have no control over the courts, plus I'm pro se. If I lose it means that the Department of Safety can suspend permits for anyone they deem "material likelihood of risk of harm to the public". It also means that the criminalization of the carry of a loaded firearm is a reasonable regulation.

Re: Tennessee man sues for right to bare arms
Is it the Sheriff that issues permits in TN? If so, why is DoS even involved? Good luck to you.
And FTA
"This guy has an affinity for open carry," Eads said. "Just because you have a right to do something doesn't mean it's the right thing to do."
