i have something like 300posts there, all but a handful all came from the car&bike section, the rest came mainly from teh ak area, with remaining dozen or so from the pistol section. i don't think i've ever even been in the ar section.

it's a big sausage fest over there. i only stop a few time over the weekends to start stuff in the auto section.
it's only metal, we can out think it....

Yeah, I agree that a lot of guys on that forum are wound just a bit too tight. I may be wrong but I sense that the demographics on that sight differ slightly from the other forums I visit. I get the sense that a vast majority of posters on arf.com are probably in the 18-30 year old bracket with quite a lot of testosterone coursing through the veins. I spent just enough time on the site to gather the info I needed to choose my black rifle and then I never went back. I prefer the sites where folks are a little more laid back and interested in a variety of weapons/shooting activities besides seeing how much .223 they can burn off in one range session or how many expletives they can use in one post.

I use it for the EE and the NFA section that's all! I'm sure there are nice people somewhere hidden in there but the ARFCOM attitude is total bullshit and I don't put up with it. Same problem I have with the owner of glocktalk and they way he runs the site. I'll stick around here, some Uzitalk and M4carbine (though I don't post) or AKForum.

    F ARFCOM

When a forum is specific to a certain gun, you often have a concentration of the stereotypical owner/enthusiast congregate there.

I personally think that the central themes encourage groupthink and attracts mallninja's, losers and poseurs.

I find Glocktalk and AK-47.net to be the same as ARF, they all have a poor signal to noise ratio.

    WELCOME TO THE INTERNET!!

think about it.. someone who has a high post count in the thousands.. probably donest get around much. people people treat post counts like money in the bank, the more they have the more they can be an asshole.

i like arfcom, lots of goods for sale as well as information and pictures.. im not one of the guys that jack up my post count by saying thigns like ....... +1, agreed, disagreed, etc..

With a forum that large and posters with 20,000 posts you get some.....um...opinions...... and opinions are like.......

I'm a paid member, due to some decent technical info and some just plain funny shizzit.

Use it to get a starting point so you don't hurt yourself......and then make your own decisions.

    .
Amen! It's why domestic abuse is about 10x higher among law enforcement professionals and why a large amount of mental health professionals are......eccentric.
