Default OC'd in two bars last night.

Went out to Iron Hill and Lancaster Brewing Company last night with my wife and another couple for dinner.

We sat in the bar area at a table. My Sig was in my OWB holster at about 4 o'clock on my right side. I was sitting near an aisle that was heavily traveled.

Got a few stares from people here and there but nothing crazy. I am a regular customer at Iron Hilll and am a member of the 'mug club'. When it came time to settle the bill, my Mug Club card didn't scan because of some problem with their system so I had to speak to the manager. I saw him look down at my hip when he walked up to me, but he made no mention of it and both he and our server were very nice. [I had one beer here, the Cherry Brown Ale. Very tasty!]

About an hour later, we then made the short trip to Lancaster Brewing Company where my buddy got some wings and we had another beer. [Hefeweizen]. I noticed a man wearing a pro-2A shirt so I stood up and complimented him on it. He was probably in his mid 50s.

    Me: Nice shirt!
Guy: Thanks! Check out the back! (Said 'If guns kill people... spoons made Rosie O'donnel fat, etc.)
    Me: Haha, very nice.
Guy: Glad to see a young man like yourself exercising your rights!
-I pointed to my Sig and nodded-
Guy: Good for you! You should cover that up though.
Me: (smiling and friendly) Why would I want to do that? I'm completely within my rights.
Guy: You are, but you don't want people knowing you have that.
    Me: I'm okay with it.
Guy: To each his own, right? Just be careful.
    Me: Yessir.
Guy: -points to a corner of the room- See that guy there? He's one of Lancaster's finest.
Me: Yeah, I walked in here right in front of him. I held the door for him and he gave me a nod.
Guy: Yeah he's a good guy yadda yadda...

He went on to talk about some guy on channel 48 and an event on 8/28. He asked if I had a computer and we talked about said guy's website. I asked him to check out PAFOA. He talked for a while and eventually said 'Well, now that I've completely ruined your dinner, I'll leave you alone. Have a nice night!'

    And that's my story.

Wait. . . you mean there are responsible people that can have a beer, without having to drink several more and get drunk?

Well, now I have heard everything. Rep incoming for a good experience.

When the wife wants to hit the dance place in York, the Hop or something I very much prefer to CC. I just can't stand the thought of all those people staring at me for my gun.

OK please correct me on this. I was under the impression that yes it is OK to cc/oc in a bar/resturant but I thought you couldn't consume any while armed?

No law against it, but it goes against common sense to consume any alcohol whatsoever when carrying, impairment starting with the first sip, etc. Just bear in mind, though, that repeat, borderline tabletop-dancing performances can and will attract the attention of license-issuing authorities.

You were mistaken. PA has no such law.

    Actually, it's just your opinion...

But we've done this tedious debate more times than necessary already.

I've searched through the forums but couldn't find any related threads. Do you know of any? I completely agree with King and I'd like to see what people's rationale for drinking and carrying are. Thanks.

I completely agree that the first thing to go when consuming alcohol is judgment and those who choose to do so should proceed with extreme caution.

That said, I had 2 beers over the course of about 3 hours, was nowhere close to being legally drunk and was also not driving. I felt it was acceptable.
