Stag Arms Leftie AR-15
I was with my brother last weekend when we bought some guns at Grice's and they had a left handed AR-15 that caught his fancy. I liked everything about it, except that the safety was an ambidextrous safety and the safety comes down and intrudes into the hand/grip right around where the inside of the pointer finger knuckle. Does anyone know of a solution for this, other than machining (aka dremel) that down? I asked the gsmith if a non ambi safety could be put in from the right side of the rifle and he said no. But I'm not sure if I believed him.

That's strange! Must be some weird ambi. I'm lefty and shoot a righty AR, the safety is no where near the grip.
JM2C:buy a righty and adapt, you'll be better off when it comes to resale.
Matter of fact I just ordered an ambi for mine and its no longer than the factory safety.

If the ambi-safety bothers you I wouldnt buy a new part.
Take it out and cut the lever off of it, round it off nice and touch it up. Slap it back together.
Done and FREE.

Re: Stag Arms Leftie AR-15
i have the same gun and noticed the same issue...
ended up putting on a different grip from command arms and that made a difference.
i didnt buy the grip because of the issues, though, but it being a little fatter than stock, it feels better and gave a little more room.
