Default Bambi vs. Ruger, which load?

Since I am constantly (14 years) getting skunked, I decided that when I go hunting this year, I'm just going to take my .357 mag... I figure there is no reason I should let my arms get tired carrying a rifle just to sit in the woods and get crapped on by some birds... I think a 6" GP100 should be fine... lol

I've heard good things about Buffalo Bore 180 grainers... Opinions? And no, not buying a bigger gun! lol

A 158grn Federal Fusion, Hornady XTP, etc. or a good 158grn cast semi-wadcutter like a Keith design would work well. Make sure you have a good shot at taking out both lungs and you should do well with any of the above bullets.
It's all fun and games, til someone shoots your bobber!

Over the many years of deer hunting, I have taken two deer with my Dan Wesson 357, you will be limiting your shooting opportunities, both of the deer I took were in the 25 to 40 yard range, I use a Lyman 155 Gr, LSWC-G/C bullet.
As with hunting with a bow, you will need too do a lot of practicing, and there is no better practice than hunting woodchucks with a handgun, nothing better to let you know what you can and can not do.

Most of the places around where I hunt, 50 yards is considered a long shot... And even then with Federal's 180 gr. Cast Core and Swift-A-Frames, dead on at 50 yards is less than 7 inches low at 100 yards still going at 1,000+ fps with over 400 ft-lbs of kinetic energy, and that should be enough to dispatch Bambi fairly effectively... lol

I love Federal ammo, but am willing to try other proven rounds... lol
