Lewistown Pistol Club is proud to present the Patriot Match September 10, 11 and 12. This will be an 11 stage, sanctioned IDPA match. Estimated minimum round count will be 160.
Let us take a minute to thank our sponsors:
Who is eligible:

With the exception of Masters, the shooter must have shot a classifier after September 10, 2009 in the division he/she is registering to compete and be classified as Marksman or higher. The Staff will be checking the shooter's registration information (classification and IDPA membership expiration) against the online, readily available, although voluntary, IDPA Membership Database in order to facilitate and improve the registration process.
Shooting Sessions:
Staff will shoot the morning of Friday, September 10
Match will be on the afternoon of September 10, two sessions on September 11, and a morning session on September 12.
Two stages of this match will occur on our indoor range. In order to prevent damage to our indoor range, only the following types of ammunition will be permitted for these two stages; FMJ – ball ammo, Lead SWC, Lead WC, or Lead RN. Hollow point ammo, +P or Magnum ammo cannot be used on our indoor range. There are no ammunition restrictions for the rest of the stages of the match.
This is a LOST BRASS match so be sure to consider that before you register. When your brass hits the ground it belongs to the club.

Registration has been up for one week and there are 40 shooters registered so far. Remember there are only 160 spots available and 25% of them have been taken already.
If you are thinking of coming you may want register sooner than later.

We're up to 66 shooters registered, and have shooters in all 5 divisions now. The odds are, someone you know is planning on coming, you should consider joining them.

We're up to 83 registered competitors. There are still a couple staff openings, as well. Feel free to contact me, or e-mail those listed on the registration page, if you have any questions.

Re: Patriot Match September 10, 11 and 12
I wanted to let everyone know there has been a few updates. First, we've picked up 2 sponsors for the match, Springfield Armory and D-Lead.
Second All competitors and staff will receive 1 entry into a drawing for a Springfield XD .45 tactical with night sights. Extra tickets will be for sale, but sales will be limited to competitors and staff ONLY. We will also have other door prizes for competitors/staff.
There are still openings available. Remember, the PA State Championship and Nationals are both just around the corner. Come on out and get some practice in before those matches.

Two weeks to go, and we're up to almost 100 competitors. There's still room for more, if you're interested.

Re: Patriot Match September 10, 11 and 12
I regretfully have to announce that the match has been cancelled. Below is a copy of the letter from the LPC President explaining things.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Fellow Shooters,
I regret to inform you, that the Lewistown Pistol Club's Patriot Match is being cancelled.
This cancelation is due to circumstances beyond our control. Our neighbors have raised a "Right of Way" issue and have blocked our access to our property. Additionally, they have cited PA Game Law, saying we are shooting within a 150 yard safety zone.
Just to let you know, we are not doing anything illegal. The right of way issue was settled approximately 22 years ago and the game law does not apply unless you are hunting.
Our lawyer has been advising us all through this battle, this started last Tuesday. All along our lawyer was advising us to continue with the match as planned. Unfortunately, we (the Lewistown Pistol Club) do not feel comfortable hosting the match and having the possibility of a confrontation occur before or during the match. We do not want to subject our competitors to this type of nonsense. Additionally, because we have been effectively "locked out" of the club since last Tuesday, we sense we would not be able to put on a match that would be of the caliber our competitors have come to expect from the Club.
Please accept my sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this is causing. We will be refunding all entry fees to all the competitors in the very near future.
Again, we are sorry this happened; we were really looking forward to hosting this match.
Sincerely,
Chris Shade
President
