    Default About LTCF renewal

    How far in advance can I apply for renewal of my LTCF? I just noticed it expires in eight months.

    Don't know.

    But if you wait till mid January and HB 2632 does not pass in the mean time, then the LTCF will drop to $20.
    The 2A does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not INFRINGE our right.

    You can renew your permit every week if you wanted to, but why would you. The sheriff is required to send you a renewal application in the mail 2 month prior to the expiration date. the closer you wait to the date the better value for the money.

    Now if you live in one of those counties that take up to 45 days to process an application and don't want to have your permit expire, I would not mess around when you get the reminder from the sheriff.

    However, if you would happen to allow your permit to lapse, state law gives you a 60 day grace period providing that if you had applied on time, you would not have been prohibited.

    Citation for the bolded part? I found this...

    18 Pa.C.S. § 6106: Firearms not to be carried without a license

    <snip>

    (12) A person who has a lawfully issued license to carry a firearm pursuant to section 6109 (relating to licenses) and that said license expired within six months prior to the date of arrest and that the individual is otherwise eligible for renewal of the license.

    While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

    Does the sheriff send out renewal notices?
