Default Need suggestions on a 22 Bolt action

I am looking for a bolt action 22 near the $200 dollar mark. My eventual goal will be to suppress it for varmints around the house. I have my eye on a Savage MKII FSS. Any thoughts?

That's one. Ruger used to have a very good bolt .22, too.

I use a Marlin 25n with a SWR Spectre for this exact purpose. My marlin is spot on and nice and easy to take care of but the problem is that the barrels are pressed into the reciever making it EXTREMELY difficult to get out to thread. If you don't believe me just send a PM to Pa. Patriot, he did mine thought he may have a jig now and making it MUCH easier to do a second time. I bought the gun on whim and if I were to do it again I would go with a Ruger. LOTS of after market support there for them.

Save the extra $100 and go CZ 452 or 453. You will not be sorry. The 453 has a set trigger that is awesome. The 452 can have a sub 2 lb trigger for $14.

Mine will shoot one oval hole at 25 yards. Not a cloverleaf.....an oval hole with 5 rounds.

I've gotta go with Lycan and say save a few more bucks and get a CZ. You won't be disappointed.

They beat me to it, but the CZs have a really killer rep when it comes to 22 bolt actions.

I have a Winchester Wildcat heavy barrel. Rifle is in the $250.00 range. Not sure if they have been discontinued. The rifle has a fully adjustable trigger, comes with 4 magazines, drilled and tapped for scope mounts in addition to the receiver grooves. Accurate as all get out.
Mine has a YHM Mite on it. Great little around the house varmint sniper.

Mine is a Browning T-bolt with peep sights, that thing is a tack driver.
Not sure how much they go for I bought it about 40 years ago but still see a few around at gun shows. Good luck with whatever you choose to get.

I have Marline 982VS in layaway. Used for $219.

If thats much, you should be able to find 980seriese for less then $200 used...
