Hey Emptymag! You bringing your better half to this. Or are you afraid she will shoot better than you. Just teasing you buddy. Hope to see you two there.

BUMP
Tony and I were once more talking about doing a Couples Shoot. This would be a chance for your betterhalf to attend a basic handgun course with you there. I know my better half doens't want to attend by herself. I am sure there are others out there that feel the same. What a great way to introduce your betterhalf to shooting than to get her to a well established course of fire.
Tony has mentioned that he would be willing to designate one of the Basic Shoots that he has scheduled as a Couples Shoot for us.
If you intersted. Let us know. And we can get with Tony and get this set up for us.
If you never have taken any training. Starting from the beginning can't hurt any of us. And if you have, well, you can come watch your better half and cheer her on.
If we have enough interest. Tony will get this started and select a day for us.The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....

Re: Training Class for the women????
Would having a female friend whose fiancé just bought her a handgun for Valentine's day count? I'm not joking. My friend needs a basic firearms course, but doesn't want to go through it alone. It's a girl thing, just like going to the restroom in pairs
I attended one of Tony's One Day classes last fall, with my Bersa .380 and just figured I'd take it again, but this time with my M&P 9c. I'm going to get us signed up for a class anyway, either in this 'couples' class or via one of his other scheduled classes, but I admit it'd be nice to know some of the people I'm shooting with this time around.
Do you have any idea of when this 'couples' class might be held? I saw Tony has a One Day scheduled for April 27th, so if this class is to be held before that or even a few weeks after, then my friend and I would definitely be interested.

Please don't let the title fool you or scare you away.
It was just an attempt to get some of our non-shooting betterhalfs to give this a try. Most wouldn't go alone.
Anyone, single or with a betterhalf, male or female is welcome.
Tony, is there a cut off on the number that you can handle. You might want to start a list of who signs up and the date we are going to do this. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....

Re: Training Class for the women????
For people on the other side of the state, my husband and I are NRA-certified pistol instructors in the Philly area and have taught several couples how to shoot or given refreshers to one person and taught their partners how to shoot. In fact, our preference is to teach couples together. We'd be happy to discuss doing something similar for PAFOA members.

Tony,
Pick a date and lets get this thing going and see how many people sign up for it. I know my betterhalf may have to bid a day off work to attend too. And they are bidding for the summer here shortly. So, we need to pick a date if we can.The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....

Re: Training Class for the women????
Let's just dedicate the April 27th class as couples only. May is filled with other F.I.R.E. courses and PMSC also has a full plate of activities that month.
If we wait until June interest will wane. If we try any earlier the weather could be an issue.
Last year we ran a class on April 14th and it was 40 deg and rainy.
I'll adjust the website to indicate it's a "couples only" class.
ETA: Web page has been updated to reflect this event.
If you'd like to attend this class and don't have a significant other, you are welcome to enroll with a friend.

The weather should have broken up here by then.
I'm interested. No spouse though.
