Also, if you are near a college or college town, try a place that makes fraternity or sorority paraphenalia.

Most places that I am familiar with do not do many other materials, simply because of how inconsistent the results can be. Their plaques are all the same, wood is not, even the left and right side will be different, some people just dont wish to bother for one of two reasons. They have no idea how to really run the machine, or they dont want to deal with you if it doesnt work out as you wish. If they are not wood, you have a better chance. Are you stuck with having them done locally, or just looking for convenience? I know of a metric shit ton of places that you can send them to.
