Default Just making sure, home-built supressor

I can't even machine the cones before I have the stamp, is that correct?, or could I form the blanks and not bore them?

It is my understanding that you can not machine anything until the stamp arrives.

+1 ... can't do anything until the stamp comes in. Just remember that you can't have any extra cones laying around either. Any spare parts are considered a suppressor by themselves.

Please post your progress. A write-up of the entire procedure may be warranted, if you feel so inclined. A legal home-made suppressor sounds like a great winter project for me, given my seasonal work.

^^^what he said. Every time a subject such as this comes up it is dismissed with wasted stamp warnings. Not to say the warnings are wasted, but the thread is then lost and forgotten.

Guy I shoot with occassionally just built one with a form1 for his 300WM. Other than the temporary bbq grill black spray paint, I'd have sworn it was purchased. Once he gets it re-coated with something a little nicer he'll have a hell of a can, and probably for a LOT less than buying one. Sounded great too. Maybe I can get him to do a write up too.
