Wow, when I lived in Thornedale [27 yrs ago] it wasn't that big, but it was still a dangerous intersection...

We have those "Red light ahead" indicators... but they aren't timed correctly, at least 1/2 the time I go through them its showing a red light, when I get there its green
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

That is probably due to a generous fudge factor on the side of caution as PennDOT is no doubt aware of the large number of drivers who come from a neighboring state where they burn themselves with coffee, blame the clown and get a mac-million for their pain and suffering. Another example would be the one on bottom of the hill on 115 before Wilkes-barre for the Geisinger light that has even greater margin for error probably due to the wide range of speeds because of the hill, weather conditions and coal cracker drivers.
