    Start time: 9:00 am

    Cost: $150

Course Description: The RZS Basic Carbine Operator Course will familiarize students with the functioning and safe employment of the semi automatic carbine for defensive and sporting uses. Students will learn and perform a variety of skills to develop capabilities and confidence with the carbine. Students will also learn proper cleaning and lubrication of the carbine and the advantages and disadvantages of different carbines and accessories. The primary focus is the real world defensive use of the carbine, however, most of the techniques will also apply to 3 gun and action type competitions. This course is designed around the AR-15 family of firearms, but students may use other suitable centerfire carbines and rifles. A firearm that uses detachable box magazines is highly recommended.

Some of the course skills and techniques include:
-Proper set up of the carbine
    -Proper loading and unloading procedures
    -Zeroing and use of offset
    -Optimal shooting stance
    -Ready positions
    -Engagement techniques
-Maneuvering the carbine to engage off line threats
    -Selectively engaging targets
-Shooting from movement and on the move

Acceptable carbines include but are not limited to:
    -AR15 series
    -AK series
    -M1 carbine

    -XCR

    -FN-FAL
    -HK-91 series
    -M14/M1A (preferably without match sights)

NOTE: All carbines must function safely. For many shooters, this will be the hardest you’ve run your carbine. Please do not bring a firearm with known functioning issues, as this will be detrimental to both you and the other participants.

Hi Buddie, glad to see you are coming back this month!

I may be able to make this class. Question : do you give any type of cert. at the end of class ?

Will you be offering any more advanced classes that will require the basic class as a pre requsite?

Successful completion of the course gets you a certificate.

I'm looking to run a more advanced carbine course in October. I'm not going to say you need to have taken my basic class to take my advanced class, but you won't want to come to the higher level classes with no training at all.

I'm looking at the second half of October. I'll have a date by the middle of August.

At the moment, participation in the classes on the next two weekends is thin.
