It's cool and all, but why would you choose a permanently attached suppressor? on an AR? Makes it tougher to clean the gun or the suppressor, and you can't put the can on a handgun. Although I doubt that can would go on a handgun anyway.

Cool if you have extra money.

Silencers are one of the few remaining NFA bargains, and they have more practicality than most other NFA firearms.

You can get a really effective Bowers can for a couple hundred bucks, and even with the $200 tax you're in for less than $500. Then if you have a range to yourself some time, it's the difference between going for a country drive with and without a muffler on the car. Eliminating the permanent hearing loss from a recreational outing can't be a bad thing.

Machineguns are cool, but places to use them are rare and expensive. SBR's and SBS's are handy, but at the range they aren't that different from Title I guns (except for the flamethrower effect.) AOW's are just odd, not that much fun to shoot or use, and DD's will get your range membership revoked if you blow apart the backstop (plus, in PA all of the explosive ammo for an M-203 is a Prohibited Offensive Weapon, so you're left with just big shotgun shells.)

I think a silencer is a dandy NFA entry point.
