    Default 1911 grip screws

I need a new set of grip screws for my Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec. Should most local gun shops carry these or should I just order online from somewhere like MidwayUSA?

Also, do I need anything special or will most 1911 grip screws work with mine?

any grip screw should work. I prefer flat heads myself.

call your local shops, most local shops dont carry anything people actually need, but if they have a smith he may have some in stock.

I like the Allen head grip screws. They look cool. Someday, I'll convert to Torx.

my issue with the allen and Torx heads is getting enough torque on them without stripping. Im not a fan.

I have screws in stock. Blue, S/S, straight slot or Allen head.
I can order the exotic engraved if you prefer.

Hmmmm . . . Torx was designed to reduce the likelihood of stripping.

If you PM me your address, I'll send you four. I need to replace one of the grip bushings (threaded on the outside to screw into the frame, and on the inside to accept the grip screw). I called the manufacturer, and they sent screws, which I don't need.

*Going to make sure I can find them!

    Yep, I have them.
