Ithaca 1911A1
Some time ago, I became the owner of what I thought was an Ithaca M1911A1 pistol, only to discover I had an Ithaca slide, on a Colt frame.
I recently came into the needed parts to make to "complete" pistols, by winning a Gunbroker auction.
Here are the Ithaca halves, while the Colt halves are still at the local gunsmith, awaiting replacement origninal WWII sights.
At some time or another, the owner of my "new" gun elected to blue the pistol.
Of course I can see the parts are not color matched, and I am considering parkerization, realizing that re-finished pistols are worth less, but the pistol shown is probably not worth as much as I paid for it, in this condition.
Sorry--I could not figure out how to post a photo!
