    Default Gun rights violated

    http://www.shipleylegalfund.com/index.php

I have known this guy since high school in Maryland. Not a good situation, and his family has a legal defense fund if you are interested. Either way it's worth the read to see what is happening over in El Paso.

Wow, is all I can say. I hope your friend wins on appeal. WTF is happening in the world these days?

Can you give us any pointers to news articles about this? I can't find any.

It seems to me, from his own defense website, that the reasoning is that it's okay go be a gun dealer if it's not for profit (although he did make a profit). Am I misinterpreting that?

He had a Gun Dealer's Record of Sale book, so he had to be thinking that what he was doing could be construed as dealing guns. Someone who knows for sure they're not a dealer doesn't maintain a Record of Sale book, let alone two of them.

I'm just not buying his story.

Actually I do because I am originally from NJ and was scared when I lived there.

There is something weird here though.

I know a fella who buys guns then finds something else he wants and trades or sells to get the new toy. All the time guns come and go, makes me jealous the prick has money enough to do it. He keeps a book of sales as well.

Sounds kinda fishy... I didn't read the WHOLE thing but it seems that one of his guns ended up in the wrong hands? (across the border)

    I keep a record...but then again, I've never sold a gun...and don't intend to...I don't want to be a link in a trail of serial numbers.

Just let this be a lesson to everyone selling guns on this forum... make sure you do not make a profit. :-)
