357/44 Bain&Davis Magnum
Anybody ever have any experience withthe 357/44 Bain&Davis Magnum? It was a "thing" in the early 70's, a bottlenecked, rimmed cartridge alleged to get the 357 mag bullets goosed up to real MAGNUM velocities.
I'm sure it had problems with clean chambers and all that, but what do you all think?
I'd listen to real experience as well as conjecture and outright rumor.
Thanks

Re: 357/44 Bain&Davis Magnum
The only thing that I have seen even close was put together by a friend. It was a 9 by .45 and was a real PIA. Would not extract or when it did the brass would end up in the next county.
There was some talk years ago T/C building barrels for the .357/44 do not know if it ever happened. A lot of work to produce a round that the new powders would probably equal in a .357.Courage is being scared to death--but saddling up any way. John Wayne
