Lost LTCF, York County Sheriff office A+

I recently lost my wallet with my LTCF in it. Went to the York County Court House to the Sheriff's office to replace my LTCF. It was only $4 to replace, the gentleman helping me was great. He was understanding, friendly, and ran my application through on the spot. I walked out of there with my replacement in less than 10 min. Not sure if this is typical but York County Sheriff's were great about it.

By the way, every county in PA will soon be going to the non-credit card style, laminated permits like York county issues. The guy there told me that so there is familiarity for permits from county to county.

BTW, could you scan in your permit and post (personal info blocked out) so we can see this non-credit card style, laminated permit license?

I hope not, I like my LTCF credit card type.

I just don't like what is reads on the back.

I would think it would be the opposite - that everyone would be going to a standardized credit card style. It's highly unlikely that we would go back to a non-digital form in this day and age. MUCH more likely that they would be even more electronic oriented and linked to a database.

JMHO

(all those counties that have invested in the new system without charging higher fees are not going to roll over and just dump it without a complaint!)

+1 on York county. I don't know why but they really have their shit together. It took me 4 minutes to get my LTCF. Literally. It probably would have been faster if there wouldn't have been a guy in line in front of me. I'll try to snap a picture of mine to give you guys an idea. I also would prefer something credit card like but this isn't bad. Much better than a piece of paper.

The York county LTCF says License To Carry Firearms in big bold letters on the back. I'll try to get you guys some pics, but all I have right now is my phone. I'll give it a try...

The Philly LTCF says "PROPERTY OF THE PHILADELPHIA POLICE DEPARTMENT" in big bold letters on the back.
