Default CCW at Citizen's Bank Park

    concealed carry at phillies game

some posters at this forum have written that the searches at citizen's bank park are not thorough. I think the park has changed it's policy recently. The searches are effective.

Last week I went to a Phillies game. Every man (not many women) was getting a pat down. I checked three entrances, and watched each one for at least 10 minutes. I had tuckable iwb at 4 o' clock. The guards were patting pockets, front and back, waist, including a pat that would find sob carry. I had to leave my gun in the car.

Take this post for what it is worth. Please do NOT reply to it with any suggestions.

Yeah, they have tightened up the pat down. Still not exactly thorough and not going to stop the determined. But knowing it's against their rules I do not attempt carrying into the park, with or without a pat down.
    When the SHTF......be the fan.

Speaking of "new guy", I find it a little odd that his user name is short for Citizens Bank Park, his first post is discouraging people from even attempting to carry into the park, and he doesn't want us offering suggestions on successfully entering while CC. It makes me wonder if he works security there, and he's embarrassed that so many of us here have posted they were granted entry while CCing. I could be wrong, but I just get that vibe.

I understand their, property their rules, so no need to go into that but if they happen to find it, all they can do is ask you to put it in your car or you can leave. I think I remember seeing someone here was offered to check his firearm inside the security office with proof of a LTCF. (not sure how secure that really is)

Seems to me, security should be less concerned about lawfully carried firearms, and more concerned about hiring security staff that is actually physically capable of running down a 16 year old kid to subdue him, instead of resorting to a tazer to close the distance.

It's not their property. It is owned by the city and therefore a premption violation.

I call troll. The OP is most likely someone who works at CBP (as a security personnel or otherwise), or an anti who wants to feel "safe" at the game.

Carry, if you're made, tell them you want to check your firearm in. Leave your gun in the car if you wish, but make sure it's properly secured.

That was my understanding also....the team leases the building from the city.

ETA: Ballparks of Baseball claims it's City owned.
