Default Range at the Game Lands (205) off of Rt. 100?

I tried to find the range at the Gamelands off Rt. 100. Anyone know where they are? I went up Rt. 100 to the Turn (across from "Prestige Autos"...where the steel buildings for the Game Commission are), and saw some parking areas to access the Gamelands...but no range.

I'm a member at Guthsville, but they have a 4 day Cowboy shoot going on this weekend...and I wanted to check out an optic.

    Thanks!

Aw, Hell...found it in a search (for the shooting ranges in the Whitehall area).

Rt 100 N. to Sell Rd...Right, then right again in 500', then 1 Mile on the left.

    Thanks!

What's that place like? I was thinking about going up there until I can get into a club.

The game lands in Pittsburgh could be an experience, I was wondering if this one is a little more sane.

    thanks

There are about 10 Benches set up.

    50yd and 100yd ranges.

No shooting in front of the benches.

    No designated handgun area

There is a separate shotgun area.

It took 30 minutes after my arrival (mid afternoon Sat) to get to go put some targets up.

BRING A PAIR OF BINOCS or a SPOTTING SCOPE...since you will NOT be able to run up to check where you are hitting.

Bring a stapler and MANY targets (easier to put several up and shoot at them while checking through your optics than to plan to run up and put some more targets up).

It seems to be crowded every time I go there, even on weekdays.

All free ranges in PA that are within driving distance of Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley, NJ and NY are going to draw a bunch of gangbangers and wanna-be's (in addition to the responsible shooters.) They will be crowded, and provide horror stories of dangerous habits.

I think that when we talk about these places on the Internet, we should always mention that there are cops stationed at every range, checking ID's and running criminal background checks. That should thin the herd quite a bit.

I haven't been there for 5 years or so, but it used to be a great range to shoot at during the week, I would never go on the weekends
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

    REMEMBER,
That all Pa game comm laws are stricly enforced at the ranges, you need to read and understand all the funny little laws like magazine capacities and so on if you do not want to be cited and fined out the ass.

hint, there is another range within 20 minutes of the 100 range that is also SGL and free.

I have NEVER had any company anytime I have visited that range.
