Default PA section laws and break down needed

Hi all, new to the forums and was hopeing for a little insight. I used to have a carry permit in monroe county and am looking to gettint one again. September 2002 was my renual date, but september was also my sentencing date. Needless to say I didn't do the renual. My att. told me that I should have done it. Anyways my crime was a totle missunderstanding on my part and was not violant. I have been searching the net for brake downs of the criminal codes to see if it lies within the no no's on the back of the permit app. Here is the charge can anyone help me decipher it?

    offense date 6/29/2001

Did you plead guilty? Were you convicted? Or was the charge pleaded in anyway? Were you, or are you still on probation? All that will matter.

But even if you fail the instant check, I believe that you can fill out and send in a form to have them check over everything.

I plead guilty waived all hearings went straight to sentencing. Served one year probation. First last and only offence

Try reading here to see if that helps you. It is a bunch of legal jargon, but you should be able to see in there. I would say just by reading over this quick that you are fine to apply and should be granted a license. But I am neither the sheriff or lawyer.

You were convicted for Title 18, which section exactly? I can't seem to find it based on what you said. I think, but I could be mistaken, that's a felony conviction, which means you're a prohibited person now under federal law.

If the crime carries a 1 year prison term or greater you are prohibited.

If it was an honest oversight and you were not stealing/stripping/reselling cars I would highly recommend looking into getting your rights restored.

Just curious, did an attorney suggest pleading guilty?

Yeah... grade F3 is a felony of the third degree, which is the least serious felony. You are a prohibited person and may no longer possess firearms, let alone have a license to carry. Just out of curiosity, why did you plead? I think one would be hard pressed to find a jury that would convict someone of a third degree felony because he built a car. Did you lawyer advise you that pleading guilty would cause you to give up your right to own a firearm?

sounds to me like you need an actual attorney's advice. Don't rely on what you can find on the internet, or on your own research.

If this isn't an example of ridiculous consequences of an overly broad law, I don't know what is. I might be more open to the idea of felons losing their firearms rights if so many ridiculous things were not felonies. There is no earthly reason why what you did should be anything more than a summary offense, and that you have lost your firearms rights for something so trivial and non-violent.

Ditto. The system is broken beyond repair.

Good friend of mine (was a FFL dealer) in now a prohibited person because of TAX problems.

It's time for a "do - over" if you ask me...
