Ohio question
I have been reading this forum for quite some time (first post, though). I have searched extensively and been unable to find a clear answer to my question:
I will be in Ohio for a few days coming up. I do not yet have my Utah CFP (although I do have a PA LTCF). Can I legally transport an unloaded firearm in a locked box, then posses it in a campground or hotel room?
2 notes:
(1) I will be on a motorcycle, so the trunk is not an option.
(2)The federal interstate transport law will not cover this situation, since the trip is PA-OH-PA.
My thinking is that a campground or hotel room is my (leased/rented) private property. As long as the property owner does not prohibit firearms, I should be good.
Any insight??
Thanks!

Ohio has some laws that you'd need to be aware of, like a loaded magazine or speedloader anywhere in the vehicle "loads" the gun. And if that Utah permit arrives in time, note that the places you can legally carry are very restrictive compared with Pennsylvania, and "no guns" signs are not uncommon. As a visitor, I've found carry prohibited in most places we visited. Ohio is also a "must inform officer" state.
