Attacked while CCing today

Yes, it is true. I was CCing, and I was attacked in the parking lot of Walmart. I don't think that OC would have been a deterrent, but CC did save me somewhat.

I was walking across the parking lot towards the store, when my attacker hit me with a shot in my left shoulder. I did not even know I had been hit until I got to the bathroom in the store and saw a dark stain spreading out over my shirt. I was not in any pain, but I was angry. No one but a bird brain would attack someone like me, armed or not.

And in this case, it was just that. Of all the places to be at the wrong time, I happened to walk under some stupid bird who happened to be emptying his digestive tract. I took a hit to my left shoulder of a huge glob of dark bird poop. It looked like my avian adversary had been eating some sort of berries. The good news is, the poop did not penetrate my cover garment, so I was able to remove it, fold it carefully so as not to get any on my hand, and continue my errand OC, as I usually do. I had just happened to start the day CC for reasons that are not germane to my story, and kept my shirt on rather than lose it over an OC/CC debate. In this case, it was the right decision for me.

Did you have an opportunity to retreat, or did you stand your ground?

When the LEOs arrived to take your statement did you refuse to talk to them?

Besides the fact that Walmart needs a good lawsuit every so often, I think that they could really be held accountable for this to your benefit. Was there garbage strewn about the parking lot for the birds to feed on? Did they have offensive spikes installed on the surfaces of the parking lot lights? Did the manager apologize or admit responsibility for what happened on their property? Were you emotionally affected by this incident? Were there any signs posted warning you that such an event might take place so that you might have been able to take preventative measures?
