Steel Canvas: The Art of American Arms
I recently purchased this book from Amazon as I've been interested in engraved firearms lately.
This is a very nice, large book with tons of high quality photos of engraved firearms and edged weapons. There are also some smaller non-weapon pieces as well.
Haven't begun to read it yet so I can't comment on the actual text content, the photo content is amazing. Some of the engraving on the firearms is extremely
detailed, elaborate, and extravagant. You can't look at these firearms and not see the beauty in them.
I was mostly interested in engraved firearms from the Civil War era and later, but this book contains lots of earlier weapons as well. There's a lot of focus on Colonial era firearms.
Definitely a must buy if you are into this type of thing.
