Re: Fun with lumber
Update:
Framing is complete
Electric drilled out and getting roughed in today
Tomorrow the drywall will be here and should be pretty easy to put up. I got 8x4x1/2", so it should be a matter of trimming a foot off it and and screwing in.
Thanks for all the comments so far, and Viper77 you are definitely going to have to come check it out!
PS> Last night I picked up another pistol of the HK species
PS>PS> TD, my brain finally kicked in and realized I can't go shooting Friday night, I haven't reloaded any 9mm!

Update:
Electric is done, Drywall is up, and now the mud is being completed. Once that's done its a matter of some primer & paint, then the work benches! w00t w00t

Re: Fun with lumber
I wanna get some paint or primer at least on the walls before pics. I also wanna stain the gun rack so it looks a little finished.
Update: first coat of mud went well, wet sanding today and then second coat followed by a 2nd sanding. If everything goes well today, I could be priming late tonight. If not, perhaps tomorrow night for the primer at the latest. I still need to address the floor as my first attempt at the floor has failed horribly.
But yea more forward progress and maybe sometime during the weekend I will be ready for shelves and the 18FT workbench

Re: Fun with lumber
Impressive in scale; what will hold them in place, just gravity and the pegs? I have dogs, they brush up against everything, if I stacked a bunch of rifles like that they'd fall like dominoes every other day. Are you going to install barrel clamps, little dividers every 5 slots, or maybe a bungee cord across the front?
Whatever you do, sure beats sticking them on top of the fridge or under the bed.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: Fun with lumber
Update:
2 coat of mud and sanding done, and the lights are all wired and working. I stand a good chance of priming tomorrow. I had a distraction tonight, I went to the barn and scored a S&W 629 Classic 5" in 44 mag. It's stainless but most everyone I have found is SS so I guess that part doesn't matter. I also scored a die set with a Lee factory crimp die, 500 240gr projectiles, and some brass. So as soon as my bench is set back up and in operation I should have some fun with this one.
Karl, Nice rack man thanks for sharing
