Hey Jabtime. If interested, NineSeven runs a website that sounds like it'd be right up your alley.

My personal opinion is that if I want that sort of specific info, I'll go to a forum dedicated to that topic. You will likely get much more useful/accurate info that way.

Gun forums with SHTF sections always seem so "juvenile" to me. Then again...

Agreed. SHTF/Survival talk is great in the occasional thread or if people want to take it to PMs. I do think a dedicated sub forum on the topic will give us the some pretty unfavorable labels we've been fortunate enough to avoid for so long by the quality of threads/posts by the users here.

There are a ton of survivalism/shtf forums on the web, with people who dedicate their lives to the discipline who could offer much better info than the 100 or 200 of 30,000 users on this forum who actually post more than once a month.

I vote no because PAFOA will quickly turn into a tin-hat festival. Even if we don't, we will be labeled as such.

Ya mean we're not? I'm surprised we don't have a Mayan calendar subforum.

As EM said, we've discussed this before and I personally feel that it strays too far from our goal. While it's tangentially related, we're a firearm forum not a survival forum.

Both of these are excellent forums dedicated to survival topics run by PAFOA'ers, they will do a much better job of providing consolidated information on the topic than we ever will as it is their main focus.

Red face Re: Preparation and Survival Subforum in lounge?

I guess a defication hitting the oscillation subforum would be okay
although I gotta say too many boards out there already and
not sure if it will happen, although the way Greece and the EU are in trouble situations like riots could still happen and our money is pretty worthless being
a Fed reserve note, and all the talk about the IMF, and Europe wanting to be off the dollar who knows?

I personally think it's a great idea! Obviously, zombie flicks are an activity suggested by some, maybe running a day where you teach zombie survival by a lil ol game called "Zombie tag" (which helps prepare people for a zombie attack in some fashion) where the zombies are either the slow moving type (shamble tag) or the modern type (infection tag)... "survivors" are armed with nerf bats, and a tap to the head (helmets for all participants for safety!) means they're "down", and can't tag you... or variations thereof based on certain scenarios.
