How early can you renew a PA LTCF??

(c) At least 60 days prior to the expiration of each license, the issuing sheriff shall send to the licensee an application for a renewal of license. Failure to receive a renewal application does not relieve a licensee from the responsibility to renew the license

I'm not certain, but I think someone may come along with a better answer. That's all I could find with a quick Google.

Yeah, the 60 days thing for sheriffs to send out reminders is the only reference in the statutes as to when you can renew.

I think I remember reading that some sheriffs just wont do it prior to 30 days before....but not sure about Centre County.

Probably best just to call him and ask.

Has anybody asked anybody who might know...why an applicant can't just send a pic like most other states? There has to be a way PA can "add it to the system" will having a face to face.

i thought they said you had to sign for the LTCF in person in the link i read earlier?

I just reread the article...it's more than just pics or signatures..

When an applicant does show up in person at a county sheriff’s office, his or her driver’s license will be swiped and the information automatically transferred into the system. That will be submitted to state police for a background check.

how are they swiping say a GA DL??there is no magnetic strip on it

I have no idea why, but my drivers license will not read when swiped.

heh...guess that's something they failed to take into account. Must be basing it all on the PA drivers license...
