Shame. So many pointy-stick related violence in the deer community...maybe Deeradelphia should ban pointy sticks....

    Enjoy!

Honestly I cook it like you would beef or pork. And if you make ground deer out of it, it makes great burgers and hamburger helper, meatballs, or even meatloaf. For the tenderloins you get out of it, cut them thin, sprinkle seasoned salt, garlic powder, and black pepper on them, coat in flour, and then fry them in a skillet with oil in it (I like olive oil personally).

    BTW, congrats on getting one.

1 part ground venison, 1 part hot sausage (decased and broken up), some egg, bread crumb, parm cheese, minced garlic, minced onion, salt, pepper...best damn meatballs ever!

I'm in the mood for some good deer burgers right about now.

My favorite by far are some fresh back straps slapped right on the grill with some salt, pepper, and just a very light brush of mustard.

ETA: We are a bit short on deer at my place but have a nice sized flock of turkeys that really want to be in my oven....

I always enjoy a good deer steak. I also like when my mom makes deer stew....Good stuff.

I haven't had deer in a while on account of me not picking the best times/spots to hunt. And I never remember to get my doe tag for some reason?!?!?!?

    Strip-ees

    Cut meat into 1/2" x 1" x 4" strips (there abouts)

Marinate at least 8 hours in Frenches Italian Dressing Mix with oil and wine in place of vinegar.

Fry in iron skillet until done.

    Serve with favorite adult beverage.

We would keep a large bowl of Strip-ees in the fridge for a quick snack for when we came back to the cabin from snowmobiling, fishing, etc.
