So what your saying is. You can't be grumpy and knowledgeable. It has to be one or the other.

I think that .50 BMG is a *little* excessive....

However I suppose if it falls under Centerfire, Manual Loading, with an expanding bullet you're legal. And I would indeed aim for the head, it would be a shame to ruin meat.. lol

    Yes, I have.
    The damage was unbelievable !
I tried to attach a photo, but file size is too big.
I shot it w/ a 750 gr. hollow point. The exit wound was 13" dia.
When my son and I picked the deer up to put it on the truck, it broke in half.

I will never do it again. Very disturbing !

I would be glad to send photo if someone can help me figure out how to do.

Hey 50, I'm sending you a PM. We're not really allowed to post gorey photos here, so you can't post it up. I'd be interested in having it emailed to me though.

You don't want to do that. A 675g softpoint rendered the deer usless for anything but dog food. A shot at the base of the neck took off the head and blood shot all the way to the rear quarters. The shot was at 500yds in Northern West Virginia out Big Wheeling Creek between 2 hills.
