They will just deny it flat out, BUT if PAFOA and other sights members go we could poss open up a can of worms that the public does not know about their so called saviors in uniforms.

LETTER: There is no 'Florida loophole' in Pa.'s concealed weapons permit process WEAPONS
    Updated: 07/13/2010 11:23:45 AM EDT

    No loophole
Your July 6 guest editorial from the Chambersburg Public Opinion shows a clear lack of knowledge on the subject. There is no "Florida loophole." If you live in Pennsylvania and want to carry a concealed weapon, you should have a Pennsylvania concealed-weapon permit.

The requirements to obtain a Florida concealed-weapon carry permit are much more stringent than Pennsylvania requirements. The Florida application asks the same basic questions as the Pennsylvania application, but there are additional strict requirements to be followed.

You must furnish a copy of a document showing completion of firearms training, with an original notarized affidavit by those who conducted the training.

You must return a fingerprint card furnished by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Licensing. The fingerprints must be taken at and certified by the local sheriffs' office, at which time the local sheriff can notify Florida about any negatives.

A picture must be sent with the application, notarized affidavit, fingerprint card and the fee. All this information is then processed through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the FBI.

Florida has reciprocal agreements with very many states because those states recognize Florida's thoroughness before issuing a concealed-carry permit.

I certainly do not see any loophole. If you can't qualify for a Pennsylvania permit, you surely will not qualify for a Florida permit. When you fail to check facts and only rely on the ignorance of other journalists you do your readers a disservice. We do expect some degree of accuracy from you.
