Ahh, the Garand bite. You're not the first nor will you be the last. When I mention it to my Dad (was with the Army of Occupation, Constabulary Div.) it brought a smile to him and a bunch more stories about his time in Germany.

Haven't been bit by my Garand yet but my M1 Carbine got me one day. Not really sure what I was doing at the time but it sure hurt.

I always do! This happened while cleaning... I was all finished and inspecting the bolt lugs/track to see if i needed to put some fresh grease in there. Well lets just say i didnt lock the bolt completely back lol

I know, but geez,,,take them out, pet them every once in a while...scratch them under the trigger guards.....you know the deal.....

And ALL my guns have teeth!!! if only at ONE end...

The only good news is the nobody ever lets their M1 bit them twice

You can also look into a Holbrook device. I have one - not installed yet. A few guys I know swear by them while others may call you a Nancy.

my 6 digit got me on the right trigger finger on sunday.
was poking(hehehe...not) around trying to figure out what was going with a case of premature ejection(weak clip latch spring).
note to others, a garand is not a gun that you go poking around on.
i saw it coming, but could'nt move fast enough. that was sunday, it's now tuesday nite and i can finally put pressure on the finger.....to poke around agian.....
