Re: Northampton County Council Stalls LTCF fix request.
Just got around to reading this one.
The last time I was at the courthouse to re-apply for my LTCF, I had the hassle from the deputies. After sending the office a letter I got a phone call from a seargent. While talking to the seargent, I asked him about the work number, since I did not put one on the application. I told him I did not want them to call as it might effect my employment. He told me that was fine and that they don't really need it. This was in October 2008.““Liberty is the right to choose. Freedom is the result of the right choice.””

I know that they never contacted my personal references either, I was rather shocked and disappointed they didn't.

They never checked any of my ref's or contacted my employer.

FYI I got my LTCF from them on the very last day they had to give me a answer. All the people I know that have gotten one recently have ahd the same.

Re: Northampton County Council Stalls LTCF fix request.
Hello, New to this site/org. Seems like a good resource.
Does anyone know what the status of this employment ref check is. I recently downloaded the application and I think it still had the employer line item on it. I will be requesting LTCF shortly but am currently unemployed. Laid off after 10 yrs with my last employer. Has being unemployed created an issue for anybody? BTW I totaly agree that its an issue that the Sheriff is contacting employers... I hope it stops.. may write council if its still on the app.

The official LTCF application is set by the state police, not the sheriff or local officials.
As mentioned, being unemployed (or a student) has nothing to do with being qualified to get a LTCF.
Of course, some sheriffs make up their own illegal rules for getting a license.
