    Default Best .22lr Pistol?

So from what i've read, which in all honesty, isnt a ton... ive seen that most .22lr pistols are kinda picky about ammo... is there one out there that isnt? if so, what is it? i really like the walther p22 and sig mosquito designs but if they arent the best, then ill look elsewhere.

The standards seem to be the Browning Buckmark and Ruger Mark II/III in their many variants.

I've got the Walther P22 pistol w/5" barrel. It's a nice little gun, much more fun to shoot than I thought. Bought it with the intention of my wife using it to practice shoot but she hasn't run any through the pipe yet whereas I've run about 2k. Never a jam, no misfeed, nothing but pure plinking goodness.

what kind of ammunition were you using? a friend of mine has one and said the cheaper stuff (wildcat and the like) was giving him problem. CCI mini mags worked best he said.

Federal bulk pack (stuff you get at walmart for about $20/550rds) would be cheap enough for me.

    How's that feed?

Best for what purpose? I have a S&W 22S (yes S not A), hell of an accurate gun, but very heavy. Target purposes are fine but sure wouldnt want to carry that sucker all day.

That's what I buy the most of. There's another brand I bought from the hardware store, can't check the ammo shelf to see what it's called but that never had issue. Most of what I use is the federal from walmart, they almost always have that when I go into the store.

Then take a look at one of these:

    (but I'd opt for a Buckmark ...)

Might not be what you're looking for, but my favorite is a Ruger Bearcat.
