Going to a Dauphin County courthouse in Harrisburg City
So I am going with my g/f to some courthouse in Harrisburg City because she wants to sit in and watch what happens to a guy she went to school with.
I'm not sure which courthouse it will be at, but I am assuming it will be there because the guy has one or two felony counts against him.
Any issues with carrying at any courthouses in Harrisburg?
Will they check it without issues?

Print out a copy of 18 Pa.C.S. § 913 to take with you, it should solve any problems they have with checking your firearm. http://reference.pafoa.org/statutes/...ourt-facility/
(e) Facilities for checking firearms or other dangerous weapons.--Each county shall make available at or within the building containing a court facility by July 1, 2002, lockers or similar facilities at no charge or cost for the temporary checking of firearms by persons carrying firearms under section 6106(b) or 6109 or for the checking of other dangerous weapons that are not otherwise prohibited by law. Any individual checking a firearm, dangerous weapon or an item deemed to be a dangerous weapon at a court facility must be issued a receipt. Notice of the location of the facility shall be posted as required under subsection (d).

Don't you find it odd that your G/F wants to sit in a court room, in a different county than which you live, to watch the "ACTION" of some DUDE from High School, Middle School, or Elementary School?
I get the impression there is some sort of Emotional Connection to this fellow with your G/F.

Disagree. Girlfriend knew guy from school when he was a good kid. Now, apparently, he's not. As an old acquaintance, she's curious.
Aren't you curious?

Naw, been in enough court rooms and dealing with criminals, one more going to the pokie isn't exactly thrilling to me. The fact that a G/F is interested in an old "FRIEND" from school that is being tried or sentenced, yes, that interests me as it is not, in my experience and opinion, normal. Now, a sensational news story with a mass murderer or serial killer or some other heinous crime of notoriety, sure, could see that no problem.
To each there own, have fun in HBG. Tell Sheriff Jack Big E said hey etc...

I don't find it odd. I know personally there isn't a connection there more then a friendship from when they went to school. She lives right over the line in Dauphin County. They were friends for a little while at school together, and she'd like to know what happens to her friend.
Statkowski nailed it I think.

Never have had any issues whatsoever checking in a firearm at Dauphin County Courthouse; actually, I've done it several times already. Just make sure you have ID (LTCF is preferred). Some of the guards/deputies don't do it often enough to know the check-in process that well and you may get delayed for a couple minutes while they sort it out; but other than that, you shouldn't see any hassles.
