    Default At the range...

I havent been to a range in a very long time....and looking at different range websites i see that mostly everytime they show pictures of people, most of those people are wearing ballcaps. Is it a required safety issue now...or is it just that so many people just happen to wear caps these days..?

Smart people wear ball caps. Shell's ejecting from a firearm have a chance of landing behind your glasses (which is not very pleasant). The brim of a ball cap will help to shield against this.

also keeps your noggin from getting hit by the sharp edge or a casing from a high powered rifle like a .308
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

a ball cap shields the eyes to sunglare, and saved me from getting a headful of #9 shot one day, but that's another story....... maybe I should get ear flaps.........

The range I go to only requires eyes and ears, nothing about noggins. I just happen to wear a cap, but I wear it backwards, so it won't protect me from brass getting stuck between the shooting glasses and my eyes. It helps protect my neck though, I suppose...

I stole one of those off the head of a Marine at JOTC during an engagement. I was OP4. I still have it. I'll post a pic but it has a name on it so I'll have to chop it. Even after all these years I have respect, despite our mutual momentary disrespect

Some of us wear ball caps to protect the vision of the other shooters. Depending on the time of day, the sun reflected off of my "dome" could injure someones eyes.

Ok seriously, I wear a ball cap to keep from getting sun burn on my head.
