How to be less shaky in high adrenaline situations
Last night I was laying down getting ready to sleep and I heard a loud bang from the back door. My adrenaline kicked in and I reached for my pistol next to my bed and noticed my hands were shaking pretty bad.
Luckily after investigating there was no one there and my moped outback was untouched.
My question is, how does one become more calm in high intensity situations? Are there any techniques to reduce stress/shakiness? Is it just something that goes away after multiple experiences?
I want to be able to have more control of my firearm when SHTF. What are good ways to numb emotion and think more rationally when you’re startled at a vulnerable time?
Thanks

Have someone randomly bang on your door every night. Eventually you'll get used to the adrenaline dump.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

I was actually thinking about asking my friend down the street to do that! Haha.

I don't have the answer but I like the idea of being pro-active on the situation. Sometimes it helps just to have a plan of action in your mind should the situation arise.

I agree, I think I’m going to rearrange a few things in my house to give me a more strategic set up

I think the bigger question is why someone would have a Moped ?

Re: How to be less shaky in high adrenaline situations
Not a direct answer to your question, but...I keep a boomstick next to the bed instead of a pistol for that very reason. I've had scares/potential problems around my house multiple times, and I can say from experience that responding with the boomstick I always felt significantly more confident and less nervous and shaky than with a pistol (never had to use either though, thankfully).
Disclaimer: Some of that confidence may come from the fact that I'm a mediocre shot with a handgun.
