    Default Lancaster's Stolen Gun Law

Apparently Mayor Gray has taken it upon himself to over ride the States Constitution and instill his own "Common Sense" Gun Laws. That SOB use to be my Lawyer!

    Council Supports Mayor's Gun Ordinance

Measure Likely To Pass At Oct. 28 Meeting

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Lancaster Mayor Rick Gray presented his proposed gun ordinance to the City Council Tuesday evening.

Gray said the goal is to cut down on illegal guns.

Council President Louise Williams said it's a measure that all seven council members support.

"All of us have seen the repercussions of guns in the city and around the state and we know that too many times guns get in the hands of persons who aren't using them for any legal reason," said Williams.

Williams said the gun ordinance is likely to pass at the council's Oct. 28 meeting.

The ordinance would require gun owners to report missing or stolen guns within 72 hours.

Violators could face a fine of up to $1,000 and 90 days in prison.

To the best of my knowledge, this is the statute that would prohibit this law.
It clearly states what to use to trace a gun, even a stolen gun, no other provisions are listed such as owners participation.

    § 6127. Firearm tracing.
    (a) Illegal possession.--Upon recovering a firearm from the
possession of anyone under 21 years of age who is not permitted
by Federal or State law to possess a firearm, a local law
enforcement agency shall use the best available information,
including a firearms trace where necessary, to determine how and
from where the person under 21 years of age gained possession of
    the firearm.
    (b) Tracing.--Local law enforcement shall use the National
Tracing Center of the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms and Explosives in complying with subsection (a).

Federal law doesn't set an age limit to own or possess a handgun.

State law says 18yo to own and possess.

It time we start teaching everyone the LAW.

I made reference to this in another post recently. When is this being voted on? We should attend the next city council meeting.

You will see that a lot of Pennsylvania cities are doing this across the State this month.
